Morning Moods

There it is, the generic iPhone alarm tone.

It's Monday morning, first alarm turned off. Five more minutes. Second alarm off. Ten minutes later. I must get up.
Anyone else relate?
I am just not a morning person. Even as a child I struggled waking up. My mum used to get us up two hours early before school, lead me downstairs where I would curl up in the armchair and she would place a coat over me while she made me a cup of tea and whatever breakfast I was in the cycle of having. After half hour or so she would then assist me in getting dressed for the day with my eyes still half shut.
And now many moons later I am still the same. Except I have no one to lead me downstairs and make me a cup of tea. Breakfast is the most skipped meal of the working week as I would simply rather be in bed. I also find if I eat first thing I am hungrier during the day. Anyone else? I am sure it is to do with getting your metabolism working or something but when you try delay your lunch break to as late in the day as possible so your afternoon seems shorter and home time sooner I do not have the desire for my stomach to be growling at me from 10am.
Now I have digressed, back to morning moods. I read an article on Mel Robbin's morning routine which only includes 6 steps and only takes 15 minutes which is supposed to boost energy, concentration and productivity. Reading the steps like get up immediately no multiple alarms and count down from five to get natural light seem simple enough... Right? Well no I couldn't even make it through the 6 steps once! I simply lack the drive to change my morning routine (or lack of) all I think is - I want my bed.
Has anyone actually tried this method? Will it help?
Answers on a postcard please as I feel my attitude to mornings is holding me back.
