Just Why

I am a cat owner. He is a very pampered prince. He gets both his wet food and biscuits. He’s allowed to roam the garden has free reign of the house. So many toys, scratch posts, boards and wheels but yet he still insists on clawing the carpet next to his scratch board! Just why?

He’s not the brightest bulb on a string of fairy lights, he chases his own tail, he tends to bump into things and does not have the balance that cats are renowned for but this is just taking the biscuit.

But this got me to thinking, in life no matter if we have all the ‘toys’ to live a good life we still want something we want/can’t have.

Everything in this world points us to wanting more, bigger and better. Latest upgrades, on trend brands and a flashier car. Adverts are slapped in our face wherever you turn. Influencers now making more than those working a 9-5 to engage you to BUY THIS.

It’s not just material things and brings me back to my original post. That sense of lacking in life.

Now I am far from well off but I work two jobs, I have a roof over my head, earning enough to pay the bills, be able to eat and save a little but still feel there is something bigger out there.

I guess this then leads on to the whole, what is the purpose of life. I spend far to long pondering this question most days. I have always felt there must be something greater, something I should be working towards and if there isn’t then that’s a little sad.

This post is a prime example of the chaos in my mind. So if you have managed to follow along then bravo.

I just feel all of the technology and intelligence we have these days surely it’s leading to something big. If not again what’s the point? People managed for centuries before without £100 trainers on their feet and a foreign object glued to their hand all day.

Wow - from my cat scratching the carpet to the reason behind evolution of man.
